Research
Our research topics are located in the areas of Riemannian geometry, global differential geometry and geometric group theory. Currently we work on the following subjects:
Symmetric spaces, Lie groups, discrete groups and group actions on manifolds, Kähler manifolds.
Together with the number theory and algebraic geometry group we are active in the research program "Group actions in geometry and number theory"

Special activity:
Geometry and algebra of solvable groups
We had an international workshop on the subject of Geometry and algebra of solvable groups taking place at the Department of mathematics from October 16 to October 20, 2006.
The workshop was supported by the Department of Mathematics and DFG Forschungsschwerpunkt 1154, Global differential geometry.
Organizers are Oliver Baues und Enrico Leuzinger.
For more information, see workshop2006.
