Research

Geometry of aspherical Riemannian manifolds:

Seifert fiberings and collapsing of infrasolv spaces, arXiv:1209.2450, 2012 with W. Tuschmann (Karlsruhe).

Deformation of geometric structures:

Deformation of development maps (animation)

The movie shows convergence of flat affine tori. A sequence of quotients of the punctured plane collapses to a quotient of the half plane. The corresponding change of the development of the fundamental domain illustrates the Ehresmann-Thurston-Weil theorem.

The deformations of flat affine structures on the two-torus, arXiv:1112.3263, Handbook of Teichmüller theory Vol. IV, ed. A. Papadopoulos, EMS in press.

Deformations and Rigidity of lattices in solvable Lie groups

Beamer presentation on joint work with Benjamin Klopsch (Royal Holloway). The article can be found here arXiv:1111.5589 and will be published in Journal of Topology.

Further Publications and Preprints.

Research Group

Dr. Wolfgang Globke studies isometry groups and holonomy groups of
pseudo-Riemannian manifolds.

Dr. Johannes Riesterer works on fundamental groups of compact Kähler-manifolds and on nilpotent differential algebras.
