Getting around in Karlsruhe
The fastest and easiest way to get around in Karlsruhe (other than walking) is the tram.
The tram station "Kronenplatz" or "Kronenplatz (Fritz-Erler-Strasse)" is closest to the math building.
On the day of your arrival, you will need a ticket for the tram. You can either buy this as an extension of your long distance rail ticket from German Rail (ask for a City mobil-extension when buying the train ticket to Karlsruhe at a counter) or at one of the vending machines at the tram stations.
Once you have received your name tag at the registration desk, the YGGT 5 badge will also serve as a public transport ticket during the conference.

How to get to the Math Department
From Hotel Leonardo you may walk to the math department (~1 mile). Here's the footpath on a map.
Or you can take a bus or tram to "Kronenplatz". Two options are: Bus 10 from "Kongresszentrum" or Tram S1 from "Werderstrasse". I am sure the hotel's reception will be able to assist you as well.

The conference site is located on KIT South Campus (KIT Campus Süd) in central Karlsruhe. All conference activities take place in the following two buildings:

For lunch you can go to the big student's cafeteria, called MENSA (H/I 6) or find something nearby in the city center.
