In Winter 2019/20 I will organize a reading course on the book "Hilbert's Fifth Problem and Related Topics" by Terence Tao, AMS, GMS 153.
We start on October 18. At this meeting I will present the topics of the study group for a general audience, I particularly invite advanced students to join in. The only prerequisite is some knowledge concerning Lie groups from the basic courses dealing with these objects. There are some conections to geometric group theory, but you are not expected to know mcuh about GGT.
I am looking forward to seeing many participants.
