This seminar will discuss topological groups with an emphasis on locally compact groups, where we will see the existence and uniqueness of the Haar measure and apply it to Pontryagin Duality in the case of locally compact abelian groups.
Requirements: We'll need the Intropduction to Algebra and Number Theory (Einführung in Algebra und Zahlentheorie), even though the Introduction to Geometry and Topology (Einführung in Geometrie und Topologie) would be helpful.
