I work in graph theory and combinatorics. One of the main topics of my research is unavoidable structures in graphs and their partitions. I was born in Novosibirsk, Russia, where I did my undergraduate studies. After completing my Ph.D. in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, under the guidance of Zoltan Füredi, and having long-term research visits in the Mathematics Institute in Oxford, UK, and the Renyi Mathematics Institute in Budapest, Hungary, I was a professor at the Iowa State University, Ames, IA, USA. In 2012 I started my appointment at KIT. Since 2016 I serve as an associate editor of Order. Since 2020 I serve as an editor in chief of the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics.
Open PhD position is available starting 1. October 2023. If interested, please send your CV, research statement, and transcript of record to maria.aksenovich@kit.edu
