Computation of frequencies in substitution tilings via Bratteli diagrams
If a Delone set has the structure of a substitution tiling, we can describe it using a certain computational device called a Bratteli diagram. Leveraging this, we will be able to use ergodic theory to prove 32.6% of all tiles in a Penrose tiling belong to a decagon, and we will learn how to do similar explicit calculations in general.
