I am a PhD student of Tobias Hartnick researching aperiodic order. In particular, I am interested in aperiodic tilings coming from inflation rules and how their self-similar structure allows us to understand their properties, such as patch frequencies, complexity, diffraction, hyperuniformity, rigidity properties... I particularly like it when one can use mathematical methods to study specific hands-on examples one can generate pictures of: see my GitHub repository. I am also researching how to extend these ideas to more exotic examples, such as tilings of nilpotent or hyperbolic groups.
Other stuff I like: geometric group theory, dynamical systems, finiteness properties of groups and Lie groups.
