Symmetry groups for differential equations (Winter Semester 2007/08)
- Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Reichel
- Classes: Lecture (1034), Problem class (1035)
- Weekly hours: 2+1
- Audience: mathematics, physics, engineers, natural sciences (>= 5th semester)
The symmetry group of a differential equations is a group of tranformations of the variables, which keeps the set of solutions of the differential equation invariant. In this lecture I will discuss methods for the computation of symmetry groups.
