A Master of Mathematics program with courses taught in English is offered beginning every year in October and in April. We welcome students who have strong background in mathematics and who are interested in continuing their studies in wide areas of pure and applied mathematics at the KIT Department of Mathematics. Enrolled students may attend courses not only in English but also in German. The program is designed to be completed within two years and consists of three semesters of a course work and one semester devoted to master thesis. Our master students have an opportunity to work on research projects in active collaboration with members of respective groups.

Admission Requirements
A Bachelor degree in Mathematics corresponding to at least three years of study at a university or a qualification equivalent to it (e.g. a degree in Physics or Engineering with large mathematical content) is required; proficiency in English (TOEFL with minimum score 230) or German language (DSH or basic level III) is necessary.

The official deadline for application for the winter semester is July 15. We recommend that your application is submitted by June 20. The application portal is typically open by June 1. Summer semester applications should be submitted by January 15.

Contact with German Students
The classes held in English are part of the regular mathematics program and are also open to German students. In particular, tutorials, seminars and lab courses offer opportunities for cooperation. Karlsruhe is a student city with lots of social events.
Financial Aspects

The tuition is waived for students currently arriving from Ukraine.

Scholarships
KIT cannot offer stipends or scholarships. Please note that most funding agencies such as national funds and DAAD require approximately one year to process applications.
