In this seminar we discuss some mathematical projects of common
interdiscplinary research at the institute 'Angewandte und Numerische Mathematik'
in connection with natural scientists and engineers.
The topics are
+ Computation of photonical bandstructures
+ Flows with fibres and particles
+ Propagation of optical pulses
+ The master equation (chemical and biological applications)
A talk in this seminar can be as a preparation for a master theses in one of these areas.
Requirements:
Knowledge in partial differential equations.
