  • Dozent*in: Prof. Dr. Willy Dörfler
  • Veranstaltungen: Vorlesung (1091), Übung (1092)
  • Semesterwochenstunden: 2+2
  • Hörerkreis: Mathematik (ab 7. Semester)
Termine
Vorlesung: Mittwoch 11:30-13:00 Seminarraum 31
Übung: Dienstag 15:45-17:15 (14-tägig) Seminarraum 13

Note: Lecture 29.11 is shifted to 12.12, 15:45

This lecture provides an introduction into numerical methods to solve
Maxwell's equations. The main focus will be on Nedelec finite elements
and its application to photonic bandstructure calculations.
The students are expected to have basic knowledge in theory and numerics of
partial differential equations and functional analysis.

This lecture is part of the education in the Research Training Group 1294
"Analysis, Simulation and Design of nanotechnological processes".

A lecture with focus on the analytical methods for Maxwell's equations by
Guido Schneider will take place as a block course at the end of the winter term.
