Integral Equations (Summer Semester 2010)
- Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Andreas Kirsch
- Classes: Lecture (1572), Problem class (1573)
- Weekly hours: 4+2
- Audience: Mathematics (from 6. semester)
This is a class for students of any mathematics course who have completed the Vordiplom examination. Topics include integral equations of the second kind and their solution theory, the so-called Riesz-Fredholm theory. Further topics are the Fourier transform and convolution equations.
A prerequesite to understand the material of this class are the basic lectures of the "Vordiplom". Necessary results from functional analysis will be discussed in the lecture. In fact, this class can be seen as an expansion and application of the concepts and methods of functional analysis.
