Research focus Partial Differential Equations

The research focus “Partial Differential Equations: Analysis, Modeling and Numerical Simulation” covers the entire range of research on partial differential equations. Its spectrum includes functional analytical investigations, qualitative and quantitative statements, aspects of modeling, optimal control and identification of parameters as well as the investigation and development of numerical methods for the simulation of problems from engineering and science on high-performance computers together with users from industry and research centers.

Here at KIT with its research areas and centers in engineering and science, this focus will play a central role at the interface between pure research and technical application.

The Collaborative Research Center 1173 Wave Phenomena: Analysis and Numerics is the largest coordinated research project within of the pde research focus. It is funded by DFG and was established at KIT on July 1, 2015.

From April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2015 the DFG funded the Research Training Group 1294 Analysis, Simulation and Design of Nanotechnological Processes.

If you are interested in receiving information about talks and other activities of the pde focus, you can subscribe to our mailing list. In order to avoid abuse of this list we only accept email addresses from scientific institutions.
