Dates and Outline of the Course
Please note that the hackathons are held as block events before the start of the lecture period.
The next hackathons will be offered on the following dates:
- April 2026: April 7-10, 2026 (full day)
- October 2026: October 12-16, 2026 (full day)
- April 2027: April 12-16, 2027 (full day)
Bachelor's students participate in a total of two hackathons during their studies, master's students (from 2027) participate in one.
The hackathon is a block event in which you work intensively in small groups of up to six students on problems from science and industry. The event offers an exciting opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world use cases and develop creative solutions together as a team. You will present your solutions as a group on the last day of the hackathon and subsequently create a computational report documenting the results and approaches.
The registration period is in the preceding semester.
Bachelor’s Program: Hackathon in Summer Semester 2026

Hackathon in the Master's Program Computational and Data Science
The master’s hackathon will be offered for the first time in April 2027.
Information on registration will be made available on this website during winter semester 2026/2027.
