Mathematics Day takes place on 14 March and is a competition for pupils in the final two years of secondary school. The focus is on the (two-part) team and individual competitions. Parallel to the individual competition and the second part of the team competition, there will be a mathematics lecture and information about career opportunities for mathematicians.

On December 5, 2025, the KIT Department of Mathematics will celebrate its annual graduation ceremony. In a festive setting, the Department of Mathematics will bid farewell to all graduates of its master's programs and doctoral students of the year 2025. In addition, the departmental prizes will be awarded. This year's keynote speech will be given by our alumnus Dr. Felix Hagemann, Senior Scientist - Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH.

Manuel Krannich, Junior Professor at the Institute of Algebra and Geometry, has been awarded this year's "Academy Prize in the Mathematical and Scientific Disciplines" by the Niedersächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften. The department warmly congratulates Dr. Krannich on this award.

We are looking for an outstandingly qualified person with a thematic focus on the analysis of non-linear partial differential equations with links to physical or other scientific or engineering problems. The application deadline is October 31, 2025.

Stefan Kühnlein has been awarded the 2025 Teaching Award of the Department of Mathematics for outstanding courses and many years of commitment to the organization of our teaching. Congratulations to him! The reasons for the award are also explained in the video.
