Mathematics DayMathematics Day takes place on 14 March and is a competition for pupils in the final two years of secondary school. The focus is on the (two-part) team and individual competitions. Parallel to the individual competition and the second part of the team competition, there will be a mathematics lecture and information about career opportunities for mathematicians. WorkshopFrom 2 to 4 March 2026, KIT will host the scientific workshop Data-driven methods for PDEs. The workshop will focus on modern data-driven approaches to the numerical solution of partial differential equations and will bring together classical methods of numerical mathematics with current developments in the field of machine learning. Annual celebration 2025On December 5, 2025, the KIT Department of Mathematics will celebrate its annual graduation ceremony. In a festive setting, the Department of Mathematics will bid farewell to all graduates of its master's programs and doctoral students of the year 2025. In addition, the departmental prizes will be awarded. This year's keynote speech will be given by our alumnus Dr. Felix Hagemann, Senior Scientist - Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH. |
